Sigo introduces e-cargobike docking stations in Darmstadt

Darmstadt will have two complementary cargobike hire systems; one using the hosting model, and free to users, and one using docking stations, and available to users for a small fee.

The city in Hesse already has a fleet of five cargobikes available for hire for free; there are plans to expand the number of bikes.

A new initiative, a collaboration between sigo (a new  smart mobility startup) and the largest home builder in the state, will deploy a fleet of e-cargobikes at a number of housing developments in the city. The bikes will be docked at charging stations and can be hired through an app. Cost: €1.50 hire charge plus €1/30 minutes.

Sigo plans to have more stations in other cities, including Frankfurt and Wiesbaden.
